Uncertainty over tariffs has raised concerns about potential price increases in the construction industry.
The EPS molders that are members of the Logix Brands consortium manufacture a variety of engineered insulation products—including Element ICF, Halo insulation, and Heat-Sheet radiant panels—in a number of plants that are located in both Canada and the United States. (See our plant locations here.)
The products that are sold within the country in which they’re produced (which are the majority of the products we make) will more than likely remain unaffected by tariffs.
Thus, should any tariffs be imposed, the engineered insulation products that we make and sell in the same country should maintain stable pricing.
However, some Element, Halo, and Heat-Sheet products are produced in Canada and sold in the USA (and vice versa).
In these cross-border cases, any price change would depend on the specific tariff rate that is applied and on the prevailing exchange rate between U.S. and Canadian dollars. Our customers can rest assured our plants and dealers will collaborate to keep your costs as competitive and stable as possible.
However, if tariffs are placed on our engineered insulation products that cross borders, it is likely that their prices would rise somewhat—but at a rate significantly less than the imposed tariff.
At present, our foam products are tariff-free and competitively priced, and we expect them to stay competitively priced, even if tariffs are introduced.
In addition to our engineered insulation products, we also stock and resell certain steel and aluminum accessory products and we do anticipate the pricing of these accessories will be affected by any tariffs that may be applied to them. Some of these tariffs are scheduled to take effect on March 12.
